Great to see Mitch from Soundtoys who introduced us to their brand new not yet released Space Blender. This plug-in is described as an "imaginary space machine" and offers a novel approach to reverb, characterized by a multitude of delays but no feedback loops. This means each sound has a definitive start and end, which Mitch mentioned could create large ambient washes without overwhelming the mix.
The Space Blender is entirely algorithmic, with innovative features allowing you to shape sounds using its interface. The plug-in supports creating reverse effects and implementing fade-ins for a distinct feel. Mitch demonstrated how the tool is adept at transforming simple sounds into lush soundscapes, highlighting its application as a drum gate and discussing its potential as a multi-effect processor. Currently integrated into the Soundtoys Effect Rack, it's still in beta but promises standalone availability in the future.
