NAMM 2025: Nord Piano 6 Introduced with New Features

Just prior to NAMM (next week), Nord has announced the release of the Nord Piano 6, the latest generation in its Piano series. It's something people have been asking about as NAMM approaches, and clearly Nord have been listening. We'll be stopping by to check it out next week in our NAMM coverage.

 This model features a revamped panel design, incorporating LED faders and offering dual-layer functionality for piano and synth sections, each with independent effects. The instrument also comes with a premium triple-sensor keybed, designed for precise and expressive playing.

Key highlights include:

• Advanced Layering: Supports two independent piano and synth layers, enabling a range of creative possibilities.
• LED Faders: Dedicated controls for each layer improve usability in performance settings.
• Two Independent Sample Synth Layers: Allowing flexible sound design and layering.
• Sample Synth Enhancements: 
  • Unison Feature: Creates a rich, ensemble-like sound.
  • Tru-Vibrato: Offers real-time vibrato control for expressive playing.
  • Round-Robin Functionality: Ensures natural-sounding repetition for samples.
  • Mono and Legato Modes: Includes Glide for smooth transitions between notes.
  • Dynamic Controls: Adjustable attack, decay/sustain, and release settings.
• Piano Section Improvements: Offers 120-voice polyphony, advanced string resonance, and options for soft, mid, bright, and Dyno filters.
• Effects Suite: Includes a new Spin effect, delay with filtering options, a spring reverb, and layer-specific compressors, modulation effects, and amp models.

The Nord Piano 6 is available in 88-key and 73-key configurations, both equipped with the premium triple-sensor keybed. Each unit ships with the Nord Triple Pedal 2, enhancing the instrument's expressive capabilities.
