Yamaha PSR-36: The Pinnacle of Home Keyboards?

US A 4-Operator FM behemoth      05/12/24

We've all had forays into lofi keyboards - with PSS-280s, PSS-140s, PSS-470s et al - with their unique 2 operator FM sounds, replicating helicopters, the sea, and  the occasional cosmic synth bass! Here's a full list of PSS keyboards, but we may have happened across the Holy Grail of home keyboards in the Yamaha PSR Range. In this video, SnowMetal demonstrates the keyboard, which has some spectacular features and sounds. More form him...

My passion for 1980's home keys is well-documented, and I have found the Holy Grail.. The Yamaha PSR-36 has the sliders to edit the FM synth engine, much like the mini-keyed PSS 360, 460, 470, 570, 380 etc. but with mad features: 4-operator FM (instead of 2), which can be detuned against itself (!!), 61 full-sized keys, a extra-long sustain and improved MIDI.

Here's a video from Synths and Sounds

And here's another video from Gearfacts ...

Excellent stuff, More from SnowMetal who also has some excellent Electribe videos.
