APU Software Updates Their Plug-Ins

APU Software tells us that their Loudness Series is a suite of plug-ins focused on bringing modern LUFS measurements to real-time compression, limiting, and loudness histogram optimization. APU Loudness Meter
The APU Loudness Meter plug-in is a free dynamic range analysis tool supporting a variety of loudness types (LUFS, True Peak, RMS, Peak). View changes to your audio's loudness in real-time or get a bigger-picture look with configurable history and histogram views. View both real-time and accumulated statistical information all from one screen.

APU Loudness Compressor
The APU Loudness Compressor is a real-time compressor / expander designed to support modern loudness types (LUFS, True Peak). Since LUFS is a more accurate measure of loudness, the result is very transparent compression, making it particularly well suited for mastering and post-production workflows.

The compressor is also capable of operating in a more traditional way, using RMS or Peak units of measurement, so you can have your cake and eat it too.

One of the other features of this compressor is the addition of a "Source Target" mode. In this mode, all loudness measurements inside the source range are compressed or expanded into the target range. In this mode, you don't need to worry as much about whether you're compressing or expanding, you just need to set the source and target ranges to your liking. Compression and expansion are both handled automatically.

APU Dynamics Optimizer
The APU Dynamics Optimizer is a dynamics optimization tool designed to support modern loudness types (LUFS, True Peak). Underneath the hood, the optimizer uses the same compression engine as the APU Loudness Compressor, but benefits from the full audio waveform instead of real-time measurements. This allows the gain envelope to be meticulously optimized across the entire waveform.

The design of this tool allows you to very precisely target a specific average LUFS and dynamic range. Once the gain envelope has been optimized, you can playback the result in real-time while adjusting the character of the sound with the same collection of parameters from the compressor plug-in.

APU Loudness Limiter
The APU Loudness Limiter is a real-time limiter designed to support multiple loudness types simultaneously. The limiter can be configured to use LUFS, True Peak, RMS, and/or Peak loudness types. This allows you to target multiple requirements simultaneously, such as a specific LUFS target and a specific True Peak target. Internally, the ballistics of the limiter are adjusted to accommodate the different loudness type limiter settings.
