Bristronica 24: Adam Audio D3V Speakers

Always great to see the ever friendly Calc at the Focusrite Group booth, where he introduced us to the Adam Audio D3V desktop speakers, a recent addition to the Focusrite portfolio. The D3Vs are designed as ultra-near field desktop monitors and feature a sophisticated design blending power and precision. Each speaker comes with a 3.5-inch driver and a hand-folded ribbon tweeter, driven by an 80-watt amp for the woofer and a 40-watt amp for the tweeter, delivering up to 96 SPL and extending bass frequency down to 45 Hz.

Adam Audio opted for passive resonators instead of side porting to enhance bass performance. These monitors include a USB-C input for direct computer connectivity, along with traditional quarter-inch jack inputs. For added flexibility, the D3Vs include 15-degree stands and a front-facing headphone out. According to Calc, these are priced competitively at around £289 per pair, with availability in black or white finishes.
