Song Athletics - Wreck Your Sound with Ruiner

US Sound degradation plug-in + FX      30/09/24

Song Athletics has introduced "Ruiner," an audio effects plugin designed to add character and grit to any sound. The plugin offers eight distinct sound destruction effects, including stutter, granular synthesis, bit-crush, and harmonic distortion, among others. With a simple interface featuring singular control knobs for each effect, Ruiner allows users to degrade their signals with ease. The plugin supports VST3/AU formats and is available for Windows and macOS for £20.

The 8 destruction FX are as follows:

  • Stutter - beat repeater where dial controls probability and rate of repeat.
  • Granular - dial controls a custom-grain manipulation which increases in complexity.
  • Compress - a punchy compressor, where dial controls threshold.
  • Bit Crush - stepped control from 16 bits down to 8 bit.
  • Harmonic Distortion - dial controls combination of dry/wet and drive.
  • Overdrive - dial controls amount of modelled diode clipping.
  • Tape - Dial controls combination of dry/wet and various degradation options of the tape model.
  • Static - dial controls amount of combined static noise sources: originally-sourced analogue circuit noise and vinyl surface noise.

Available now priced at £20
