Korg ESX Electribe Advanced Tips


The Korg ESX Sampler is one of the early 2000 Grooveboxes which enables you to make full tracks from one unit. Its' been around for a while now bur here are some top tips for any ESX owners, to expand its capabilities - focused on the following list of topics:

  • Double your ESX memory without buying or installing RAM!
  • Stack many hits into one sample slot
  • Create evolving/ changing synth tones
  • Stretch mode setting length to 128
  • Shuffling breakbeats with 8 bar stretch part
  • Side-chain compression using LFO saw
  • Using the BPF+ as an EQ
  • Using sample length to determine pitch
  • Set the length of hits to a note length in the Stretch Step:
  • Advanced routing
  • Figure out how long your loops are with MATH!
