Granular Delay Plug-In

US MiMU's Kuiper offers independent control of five different pitch channels      06/09/24

MiMU, the company founded by Imogen Heap, has launched Kuiper, a new granular delay audio plugin. The name is derived from the 'Kuiper Belt' - a region of icy (and perhaps 'granular') objects in the solar system beyond the orbit of Neptune.

Key features of the audio plugin 'Kuiper' include:

  • Five separate grain pitch channels with independent transpose, gain and on/off controls, making the plugin highly customisable
  • A beautiful user-interface displaying a visualisation of each grain as it appears in the delay output
  • Options for either forward or backward grain playback - or even a mixture of both
  • Control the number of grains in the delay, up to 100 simultaneous grains
  • Select the preferred grain length from short grains of 20ms up to 1000ms long
  • Choose the maximum delay time which effectively controls the overall delay length
  • Additional parameters including delay feedback, panning width and reverb
  • An in-built preset system allows artists to save their creations as presets for future use
