Inky Da Cat Has Passed Away

News has just reached us that our friend and regular chat member on most Sonicstate videos and streams Inky Da Cat (Lisa Beynon) has passed away. She was pivotal and extremely active and supportive member of the online synth community.

Her contributions and comments were always positive. Many members of the Facbook Group Hardware Jams (HWJ) of which she was one of the key Admins and driving forces, have memories of talking late into the night with her. A whiz on the MPC, she was full of humour and more importantly very encouraging and supportive of people who were considering playing  or streaming live or releasing music. She was a massive fan of late 80s and early 90s house  and rave music, with many stories of attending those parties.

She went on to become a DJ and went to Manchester to join Manchester City's first music course, and spent time in the city during the golden years of the scene.

We met at our dBS Bristol event where she came and introduced herself, a lovely, kind-hearted person with an enthusiasm for all kinds of music, but especially electronic music.

A private and modest person, she was a guest on Dom Hawken's (Mr Wiggly)  Sunday Live stream back in 2021,  they were great friends  - the love and respect for her is clear in the comments for the stream. It's a poignant reminder of the fragility of life as they are both now no longer with us. She also told us that if she was a boy she would have been inline to be King of South Wales -(not a joke!) so basically a Princess.

Our profound condolences go out to her family and all who knew her in the wider community. She will be missed terribly by many.

If you would like to share memories  of Lisa with the  folks over at HWJ Facebook Group - I'm sure it would be appreciated

Here's one her recent Hardware Jams:

We'll miss you Inky
