We spoke to Tom from Kii Audio at GearFest UK to talk about the newly launched Kii seven speakers. Building on the success of Kii three, these new speakers promise the same high-end audio quality but in a smaller and more affordable package. Kii seven shares the cardioid design features with Kii three and utilizes advanced DSP to maintain phase coherence and accurate frequency response.
Each drive unit in the Kii seven has its own DA converter and amplifier channel, making it possible to control the speaker's dispersion pattern , phase and time alignment. As well as a fully aligned mode there's a tracing mode to allow for low latency through monitoring for tracking.
The incorporation of a future streaming module update will allow users to stream directly via Wi-Fi using services like Spotify or Tidal. These speakers also offer built-in room calibration and control features, accessible via the touch panel or the KII control system. With an emphasis on both studio accuracy and enjoyable listening, the KII seven aims to bridge the gap between professional and high-end consumer audio markets.
Priced at around €7.5 for a pair.
