We've all had bad gigs - PSU's blowing up in our face, elegantly tripping over a cable live on stage, and electrocuting ourselves with a microphone. But perhaps Keith Jarrett's difficult Köln Concert is the best example of how almost everything can go against you, and it can still turn out good. David Hartley explains how the day of recording went, when seemingly everything which could have gone wrong for Keith, went wrong.... but the recording was so unique that it eventually became an classic and iconic recording.
