Japanese 8-Track Cartridge Machines

US The RQ-8 covered by Techmoan      23/08/22

Techmoan is a channel packed with all kinds of audio and musical equipment from days gone by - as well as modern replications. It seems Japan is a rare source of 8-Track cartridges, given their fondness for karaoke. In this video he explores the format, how it's used, and of course - how it sounds on his gorgeous Panasonic 8 Track Player!

It appears the format was popular in England having been installed in cars, and was significantly more popular in the USA. He even manages to find two new-old stock 8 Track players form his trusty source in japan - complete with microphone to emulate the stars! In a previous video he covered the Micro-Pack format which comes in a similar style cartridge.
