Synthux.Academy recently released an innovative platform to design your own synths, instruments, and effects - they've launched a Simple Synth Design Contest today! The contest has three tiers of complexity and closes on the 22nd June. Wining entries will receive a 'Simply Packed' synth design kit from them. Here's the lowdown on the entry categories:
#01 // EASY
Monophonic synth
Design a monophonic synth with 2 oscillators, filter, envelope and saturation. Use up to 12 knobs, 3 switches, 4 jack sockets and 7 touch pads.
Bonus: Add a built in effect (flanger, delay, reverb etc.)and use only 3 additional knobs.
#02 // ADVANCED
A glorious effects box
Design a stereo effects box with a resonating filter, distortion and delay. Use up to 7 knobs, 3 switches, 4 jack sockets and 2 touch pads.
Bonus: Use the knobs as macro-controllers!
#03 // PRO
A radio looper
Design a 3 channel sampler with radio input. User could live sample into any of the channels, adjust sample length, start position, loop on/off and pitch. Use up to 17 knobs, 4 switches, 4 jack sockets and 3 touch pads.
Bonus: Use only 12 knobs.
