The sad passing of Andrew Weatherall in 2020 was a great loss to both the world and the music scene - no one quite forged their own path like he did. A new short film entitled 'Sail We Must' telling the story of a chance meeting between Weatheralll and a fisherman named Gerard Sheehy, is released next week - with all proceeds going to Andrew's family and the charities that meant the most to him.
The 10-minute film explores how the words of wisdom Sheehy shared with Weatherall changed his path and went on to influence another generation of musicians and creatives. The film also features Cian O Ciobhain who was instrumental in finding Gerard, as well as Andrew's close friend and collaborator Sean Johnston.
The film will be shown on the 16th of February - tickets can be purchased from The Sugar Club. The film will then premiere on Mixmag the following day, February 17th - the second anniversary of Andrew's passing.
You can also download 900 hours of Andrew Weatherall's DJ mixes - aka The Weatherdrive here.
