Steinway's 600,000th Piano: The Fibonacci

Steinway & Sons have unveiled 'The Fibionacci'  featuring the iconic Fibonacci spiral made out of Macassar Ebony and designed by Frank Pollaro. The spiral is made from six individual logs of Macassar ebony, which, the company says, aims to "represent the geometric harmony found in nature". The 'Fibonacci' is a Steinway Model D piano, a nine-foot concert grand with synthetic ivory inlay and bronze details.

The piano took 6,000 hours of work to make, over a four-year period, and comes with a price tag of $2.4 million. It's currently on display at the Masterpiece London art fair.
