There was some tasty old MIDI gear on display on the MIDI.org stand - their mission being to reinforce just how great and reliable a protocol it is. We saw the trusty Atari ST and Yamaha TX-7 together - I used to have that exact setup myself - it was a tearful reunion.

But also on further quizzing MIDI.org director Tom White told us that there were plans to develop a newer MIDI 2.0  for more resolution etc.
