This is my first keyboard/synth for my serious home studio. I've been playing guitar for over 20 years. When it comes to realistic, dynamic sounds the PC2 is it! I looked at Emu, Korg, Roland, Yamaha. The PC2 may not have tons of sounds but they are superb!!!!!! The pianos, keyboards, drums, electric pianos are the best. The new OS gives more sounds. I bought this and a Roland XV-5080 to have more sounds at my fingertips. Choosing the Roland amonst Korg and Emu was almost a crapshoot but the moment I played the Kurzweil PC2 I knew it was going home with me.

The PC2 is very easy to use and get around on. It is an excellent MIDI controller.

Additionally, the manual is very well-written unlike the competition and the tech support is outstanding.

If this were stolen I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Did not include rating on my previous review. I'd give it a 5 if it were not for the battery problem and the fact that the power supply is external and large, and has a special plug to connect to the PC2. If you're on a gig and this supply dies, you can't use your standard 3 prong cable. Better to get another kurzweil power supply for backup.

Love the unit. Only one caveat. The unit I had with the 1.0 OS kept giving me a battery low message after running for an hour. This caused concern as I had some user programs and setups. The latest OS (from kurzweil download site) fixes this problem. Although I believe this was a software workaround to a hardware problem, I don't get the error message anymore.
