2. TC Electronic Flashback x4
Not dissimilar from the Line 6 DL4, the Flashback x4 combines a looping function with a number of different delay types, but also incorporates TC Electronic's TonePrint technology.
You can create your own delay tones on your computer, or iPad, and zap them into your pedal using your phone, or you can download presets created by famous guitarists.
Unlike the Eventide TimeFactor, the TC Electronic Flashback x4 has more in common with a classic stomp than a rack unit, and doesn't have a digital display.
But for many guitarists, the Flashback x4 is the perfect trade-off between price and flexibility, and its die cast construction means it will survive numerous gigs and tours with even the most heavy-handed roadies.
Oh, and did we mention? It sounds great. TC continue their tradition of making professional standard effects, for prices that hobbyists can afford.
