4) Eventide H9

Eventide took a departure from their usual pedal format. The 'Factor' pedals all feature at least 10 knobs, and three footswitches. They are Swiss army knives of the pedal world, offering Eventide's famous studio-standard effects for your pedalboard.

But the H9 is much smaller, it's a Harmonizer pedal, BUT you can also load in presets from the TimeFactor, PitchFactor and ModFactor, and you can purchase extra algorithms and load them in too.

At a price just shy of £500, it's expensive, but if you're a big fan of Eventide effects, it allow you to use a massive range of effects without having to buy every single one of their pedals.

An undeniably brilliant bit of sonic engineering, and a worthy pedal on this top five shortlist.
