A really good starter for people who want to get on with making beats or ideas. Novation really made some great design choices with this one, making the grid controller a major part of the UI and so making it pretty easy to tinker, sequence and mix.

Lots of automation options, especially the ability to switch out samples for each of the four drum tacks.

Internal batteries (AA) didnt last all that long but the addition of a little speaker is pretty cool.

Integration into the Components editor with drag and drop samples and entire setups makes it relatively easy to swap out the memory.

They also released Circuit Tracks which upped the sample RAM enormously and added an SD card for loading and saving projects.
