Like the D4, only better. 18 bit sounds and a user interface that is as transparent as it can get in a rack. On top of this we have the fact that all the sounds sound authentic in their prefered context. There is also lots of them. 96 kicks, 115 snares making a total of 547 (+ silence) with all sorts of precs. FX filling out the rest. One really neat feature is the random sample section with some very realistic hats and stuff. The only weak point is the editing. you can edit pitch, pan, volume and output. All in all it's a trrrific piece of kit. gotta' have one, or two!
Comments About the Sounds: This is basically a D4 with some new features, but most importantly new Samples! You have every type of drum-sound imaginable. (some stereo + FX) From superb sudio recorded drums to "crapy recording" simulations (trip hoppers :-) ) to old beat-box classics to Sampler sounding mean beats. Everything is very inspirational and extremely useful. Think: studio tool for every recording. The sounds are more modern then those in the D4, though. |
