This synth is a real Bass beast. I've owned the sh101 and the mc202, they both sounded a bit plastic like. The SH09 is pure analogue warmth with full body bass. The external in makes it a very verstatile unit and gives in an envelope follower for the filter.

it is dusty, bit rusty, and can play one sound at time. and i love it. it makes external audio mono, otherwise high functionality.

Bought this synth from a friend for around £150 a few years ago. I really was dissapointed by it at first but the more days, weeks and months passing i did come up with new sounds and new ways of using the sh09. Its very straightforward in a good kind of way. Sounds beeing everything from heave bassdrums, synthhats, fat basses, growling pads and just weird noises. Pretty good alround sounds for a little monosynth...

Great synth for the money, will never sell it.. i think.

i bought the sh-09 in 1980 and the same day i recorded a 7", "WELTKLANG" with it, which became a minimal-electronic-standard and something like a smash hit (500 copies sold)in germany. copies of the record are now traded for more than $50,- and because i already kept some and sometimes i sell one or an another, it makes me happy, everytime i look at my wonderful sh-09. if you`re interested visit www.exil-system.de you can download "weltklang" for free!

i got it for $70 only in 89.its a good monosynth but i still think its thinner sound than sh101,lacks depth, even tho its got ext audio in and more possibilities to mix sounds, but i tried it the filter not so wild(compare to my arp odyssey's filter and audio in) to make up any ext audio exciting, just something muggy feeling across the audio come in.but its still a good synth for bleepy bubble efx and some fair synth bass.
