This is the new addition to the Korg Electribe Series. I own all the Electribes so I believe I can give a fair review. The EM1 suppose to be a EA-1 and ER-1 combined. Korg have added a few features in there, but they also discounted a few things to maintain the Electribe series' processing power. The addition that can be found on this unit is the combination of Synth and Drums in one box as oppose to buying two. And the additional waveforms. A total of 50 Waves are in this box and 140 plus drum samples. A new set of effects can be found on this machine.

Now for the cons. The advantage of the Electribe series is that they are very tweakable. Of yes, knobs can be found on this unit but it can not shape the waveforms like the other two. The Drums are only pan, and pitch. No Filters!!!!

What I really enjoyed about the Electribes are the audio inputs that each unit has. But you can not find it anywhere on this box!!!!!

Do yourself a favor, if you want a tweakable pad stick with the original Electribes, if you want a groove box, look into other names in the second hand market. EM1 = Sample Playback with a few knobs box.
