Klang.io has announced that Transcription Studio is now available on iOS and Android, allowing for instantly transcribed sheet music, tablature, MIDI, GuitarPro, and MusicXML files from live recordings or audio files using your phone. Here's the details in their own words...
Transcription Studio is a suite of easy-to-use Artificial Auditory Intelligence tools that capably analyzes multi-instrument recordings from any source and notates, making it an ideal on-the-go tool for professional musicians, hobbyists, students, and educators alike. The mobile version of Transcription Studio can be found on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Plug-and-play anywhere
The mobile version of Transcription Studio includes all of the same streamlined functionality and features of the desktop version, making it quick and easy to integrate transcription into any musical activity wherever you are. Whether you need to quickly jot down a song idea, create an arrangement for a small group of musicians, or build a full score from a recording, Transcription Studio provides everything you need to record, analyze, edit, and share your transcription. To start, simply add an audio file, social media link, or recording from your phone's microphone into one of Transcription Studio's five smart transcription modes, each designed to provide the most accurate transcription possible based on the musical input. These modes include Single Instrument Mode for solo or songwriting recordings, Multi-Instrument Mode for small groups of instrumentalists, Rock Mode for guitar-focused bands, Ensemble & Orchestral Mode for larger groups of classical instruments, Arrangement Mode for instrument-specific arrangements (i.e. piano, guitar, etc.), and Lead Sheet Mode for a melody and chord symbol focus. Once a transcription is finished, the mobile app also offers a piano-roll view as an alternative visual representation. Recording on the phone is handled by an enhanced Record Mode with an integrated metronome, so a take stays in tempo and the transcription comes back with cleaner rhythm.
Transcription Studio currently supports more than 25 instruments, including Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Vocals, Drums, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Recorder, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Oboe, Bassoon, Tuba, and Ukulele with more, with regular instrument updates planned in the future. Transcription Studio easily detects multiple instruments automatically and separates them in preferred transcription format. Transcriptions then can be fine-tuned in the Editor mode before outputting to whatever format is required. Transcription Studio projects belong to your account rather than to one device, so anything made on the phone is instantly available everywhere else you are signed in: record an idea on your phone, refine it on your desktop, and read it off a tablet at rehearsal. The same applies to exports, making integrating transcription into a DAW or Composition program just as easy.
"The Transcription Studio mobile app release is a logical extension of the desktop version's plug-and-play functionality and increases the accessibility of the tools by putting them in the pocket of anyone who is looking to make use of them in their musical journey," states klang.io Founder/CEO Sebastian Murgul. "Musical ideas don't wait until you are back at your desk. Now you can capture one the moment it happens and have the notation before the idea is gone."
