For more than two decades, Devi Ever's unconventional fuzz circuits have shaped the rigs and records of artists including Nine Inch Nails, My Bloody Valentine, The Hives, Nels Cline, Silversun Pickups and UNKLE. Now the influential effects designer is bringing that legacy to software with four component-level Core plugins rebuilt from her original circuits. Soda Meiser Core, Vintage Fuzz Master Core, Goddess Zero Core and Zero Good Core are available now for $25 each.
Devi Ever told us, "These are not captures, profiles, or approximations of what the pedals sound like. They are the circuits rebuilt in another medium."
Here's the full details...
Rather than applying a generic distortion curve or replaying a static capture, each Core plugin models the interactions of the original circuit components. Pick attack, input level, pickups, note combinations and decay can push the modeled circuits into different gating, blooming, octave, compression and intermodulation behavior, preserving the playable instability that defines the hardware.
• Soda Meiser Core - muff-like weight at lower pregain settings that develops into scrambled, disharmonic fuzz.
• Vintage Fuzz Master Core - a blistering octave-up sister circuit that moves from scrambler fuzz toward extreme vintage-octave behavior.
• Goddess Zero Core - a punchier, subtler octave fuzz with gated, almost synthesizer-like responses at lower settings.
• Zero Good Core - a waveform brutalizer that creates a hard, asymmetric pulse shape whose balance changes with playing dynamics. Each plugin keeps the immediate Pregain and Volume control scheme of the corresponding hardware and adds a Spectrum Taper option that spreads useful sounds more evenly across the Pregain control. Windows builds include VST3 and CLAP. Universal macOS builds include AU, VST3 and CLAP and are signed and notarized for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
All four Core plugins are available for $25 each through www.fuzzgoddess.com, with worldwide purchasing through Ko-fi and Japanese purchasing through BOOTH. The website includes direct and amp-processed audio demonstrations of each circuit at multiple pregain settings.
