Much Anticipated Serato DJ Pro 4.0 Now In Public Beta

Major library overhaul and workflow upgrades now available for testing   05-Aug-25

Serato has launched the public beta for Serato DJ Pro 4.0 and Serato DJ Lite 4.0, which introduces a complete redesign of the software's library system. This marks the most substantial update to the interface yet, focused on improving crate management, music discovery, and library organization - with development shaped directly by feedback from Serato's DJ user base. I

The 4.0 update is centred around usability enhancements designed to streamline day-to-day performance workflows. DJs will now be able to manage large libraries more efficiently, with additional visual cues and customization tools available throughout the interface.

Key updates in Serato DJ Pro 4.0 include:

• Advanced crate searching and filtering: Sort through crates and identify which tracks appear in which crates.

• Crate favouriting: Pin your most-used crates for instant access.

• Color-coded crates: Assign visual markers for better navigation.

• Crate metadata displayed at a glance: View duration, size, and track count directly in the library view.

• Custom rating column: Use emoji-style icons to tag tracks with your own rating system.

• Expanded right-click options: Perform more library tasks without menu-diving.

• Track analysis improvements: Analyze BPM, key, and length while connected to hardware, with automatic scanning on import.

• Mixed crate support: Add both local and streaming tracks to the same crate (Pro version only).

Note: Search and filtering functionality is not included in Serato DJ Lite 4.0.
