Amped Bitesize Review: Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah

We are reviewing a Boss pedal every day for a month in March, and we kick off with the Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah.

We're looking at 30 pedals this month, and then on the final day of March, we'll be doing a round up of our favourites. The idea being that you can quickly watch our bitesize reviews and make a quick decision on whether you like what you hear for each of Boss' compact pedals.

The Dynamic Wah is just that, a very dynamic auto wah pedal... well, we say 'auto wah', but you can actually plug an expression pedal in and control it manually, the AW-3 has controls and functionality in multitudes.

Rich displays the various controls and tones offered by the AW-3 in the video above, in which he offers a bitesize review of the AW-3.

Rich's verdict - "The AW-3 is one of the most versatile wah pedals around, they've pretty much thought of everything, this is one of the company's finer pedals. You can get funk, rock, fusion, it's a real workhorse. The only downside is the slightly harsh peak in frequency boost on certain wah sounds at about 5kHz. It can be tough at times to tame these sounds, but that's the nature of wah."
