Sonic State visited the Catalinbread booth at NAMM 2023 and caught up with Ben Hansen to take a look at two new pedals - the STS-88 and the FX40. The STS-88 is a fixed regeneration flanger with a long reverb, and it offers control over depth, rate, gate, and overall mix. It also includes an internal preamp that can be boosted or cut as needed live. The FX40 is a soft focus reverb based on the famous patch of the FX500. It features three parallel reverbs - a standard long room, a reverb with modulated trails and chorus, and a shimmer reverb - as well as an overall mix and preamp volume boost.
Both pedals are available now, with the STS-88 priced at 209 USD and the FX40 also priced at 209 USD
