A well kept secret from NAMM  this year - most everyone else decided to release prior to NAMM but Arturia went for the day one announcement - old school. Though the same cannot be said for the Microfreak. This synth has at its heart a digital oscillator, based on open source code from Mutable Instruments.

It also has a state variable SEM type analogue filter, a sequencer and arpeggiator, plus four voice paraphonic operation.

Jim Heywood (of Synth Memes! Facebook group) took some time to flip through some of the sounds the MicroFreak, so we could listen in.

Also see our presentation with Sebastien Rochard shot at NAMM:

Units are expected early April, priced at 279 UK pounds.
