Bristronica 2023: Kiviak Instruments - Wofi

US An SK-1 for the 21st century      02/10/23

Sonic State caught up with Romaine from Kiviak Instruments at Machina Bristronica 2023 to discuss their exciting upcoming project, the Wofi, set to launch on Kickstarter this October 17th.

The Wofi draws inspiration from the classic Casio SK1 and re-imagines it as a modern sample-based synthesizer with a one-knob-per-function interface. It has built-in speakers, a rechargeable battery, and a built-in microphone for added convenience. This versatile instrument allows users to record samples, emulate vintage samplers, and sculpt their sound with an ADSR envelope, digital filter, texturer for granular effects, and assignable LFO. Wofi has Wi-Fi connectivity, connecting it to the cloud platform MyWofi, where users can sync and organize samples, share content, and even edit patches online.

Kickstarter launch price: €599
