And the rest….
As well as samplers and stereo modules there were obviously a load of other modules on display, we’re not going to go through every video we shot as that would be tiring for both me and you, but here are a few picks that have really peaked our interest.
Intellijel
Pluck sounded great and seems like a really nice and unique take on physical modelling synthesis, the ability to save your sounds and then sequence through them really could give you massive sound possibilities in a small footprint.
Tetrapad looked like it could be an awesome way of generating sequences and also getting very hands on with your modular system.
Erica Synths
Erica Synths had a load of new bits to show off this year, we shot three videos with them!!
Although one of those videos wasn’t a modular piece I still think it needs a special mention as it just sounded so bloody good.
It was also very nice to see that Erica Synths are staying true to their roots and updating their DIY synth line of modules. They even added PWM just for Nick!
Tom Oberheim
Taking some of his classic stomp box designs and throwing them into the rack is what Tom did this year and we’re sure they won’t disappoint. The classic Oberheim Ring Modulator and Phase shifter sound fantastic so we’re excited to hear what they sound like in the eurorack form.
Radikal Technologies
We first saw the Swarm oscillator at Superbooth last year and were impressed by its sound, so when Joerg Schaaf was able to show of the finished product at NAMM we were even more intrigued. This thing sounded absolutely massive!
Moon Modular
We usually don’t cover too much of the 5u Modular stuff and that is probably mainly because I already have an addiction and I can’t afford to get anymore… However this year I thought I would go over to the Moon Modular booth and check out what they had on offer.
I was pleased to meet John L. Rice on the booth, we had a nice chat about how he got into 5u and we also asked the most important question of all, is it as addictive as Eurorack….
