Torpedo manufacturer Two Notes has announced a special offer to coincide with the first boxed shipments of the Torpedo PI-101 plug-in. Customers who purchase the plug-in over the new few weeks will receive a free iLok2 USB dongle, which is required for running the software. (It will not authorise with the older dongles). Here's what the manufacturers have to say...
Based on the unique Torpedo algorithm found in the acclaimed VB-101 speaker miking simulator and loadbox, the new guitar / bass channel strip allows you to hone your signature sound by virtually moving and positioning the microphone and simulating the sound of a hard driven speaker, just as if you were in a real recording room.
Torpedo PI-101 has a power amp simulation section offering 8 different power amp topologies, a "miking" section with over 30 cabs and 8 studio standard microphones, plus a "Post FX" section including low-cut filter, 5-band EQ, exciter and compressor. An intuitive graphic interface helps you shape your sound by moving the virtual microphone with the mouse and miking either the front or back of the cab. A number of additional features add extra character to the sound including Variphi, which allows you to play with the phase of the signal, and Overload which simulates the natural non-linear distortion of a speaker, ranging from subtle overdrive to speaker cone destruction!
Torpedo PI-101 will run on Windows XP, Vista, Seven (32-bit or 64-bit versions) and Mac OSX 10.5 and supports VST, AU and RTAS plug-in formats.
Pricing and Availability:
Torpedo PI-101is distributed in the UK and Ireland by MSL Professional and available from dealers priced £ 229.00
