We brought you news from NAMM (here) on this innovative development in the world of analog system design. The software configurable analog chip. It offers fantastic possibilities for new analog products - shortening the development time and cost considerably.
Well they have now announced further developments - a die shrink to 0.35 microns with a reduction to 3.3V operation. This has 2 main advantages - lower power consumption and lower cost (smaller chip size thus better yield). But it also promises to improve part matching and noise performance.
Beyond this they aim to increase the number of units on each chip to 3x3 - allowing a audio voice to be produced by a single chip (rather than a combination of chips as required now to cover the full audio range).
The road map is below with other developments shown.
Anadigm forthcoming roadmap
At the show they had their gritty synth demo running (as at NAMM). They still wouldn't tell me who they are developing with but they have a very broad range of audio applications underway. Expect to see these chips in speaker crossovers first with audio filters and synths following later.
