If you want to use this card just for its SP/dif: no problem. Used it on many different pc's without any installation troubles, only prg's like wavelab or fruity loops needed a little buffer-tweaking, that's all. The analog I/O's are not bad, better than most budget stuff like creative crap etc. but not really high-end. The real problem comes when you want to use softsynths in Logic (never tried in cubase). The mme driver doesn't come below 75 MS, the Asio driver reaches 7,5 ms to play an instrument, fair enough; but every time you want to mixdown a track you'll need to go back to a sad 88ms to keep it crack-free...

Great card for the money... They go for about $50 now, if you can find them! Don't believe anything anyone says about not getting it to work with PC. The key here is a clean format, and the newest version of the drivers. It does NOT play nice with other cards, so if you insist on setting that up, make sure you set a restore point, or have backups of your previous config. If you already have a sound card installed, there's a chance that the driver won't even install properly (ie, it won't show up in Device Mgr). Yank the card, clean format, and then you'll be good.

When I first got the card I had lots and lots of trouble with it. I had a quite old mainboard, though(pc), and the problems I had all disapeared when I upgraded my pc. The sound is both crisp and punchie, so no problems i that department. I use it with Cubase 5 and with latency as low as 7 ms it runs all of my softsynths smoothly. Because of all the compabilityproblems I had before my upgrade I also have a SB Live card installed to do the everyday windows work. The Audiowerk2 does my music stuff with style, but it aint hasselfree, so don't expect it to be up and running at once.
