One of the best Yamaha digital drum sets. Loads of fun features. A well made and set out unit. Good as a midi trigger. Bright green pads look good on stage! Not much to criticise. The patterns and kits are good. It has a fun 'scraper' feature which reminds me of the Suzuki Omnichord. This unit is great value for money.

The DD-14 has good sounds, all that you need is there. The 8 pads + 1 pedal would be great for recording via Midi, except that the DD-14 does not send Note On, Note Off, but Midi events, that hangs the Midi In port after 5 seconds of playing. Don't know why it happens. But its guaranteed fun!!
