What a great unit, bought one used with the Latin and Contemporary carts and I've been blown away with the 12khz grit that pounds out. Nice Lo-fi tones that fit perfect in a techno/dub/d&b/breakbeat kit. The human variation lets you dial in a percentage of when a fill will come in, perfect for the 'natural' rhythm. Not a lot of bells and whistles but a bristling 8 tone drum machine that the modern units can't touch for dithering down to it's original splendor. Alongside the Korg ER-1 it's a glitch-hop marriage. Can't say enough about it, a unit that stands alone in the tone department.

Amazing machine, it's simple. But what it does, it does better than anyother machine. Real outstanding sounds are tom 1 tuned down to make and awesome kick-drum. And that crisp punchy snare drum tuned down gives you the best snare drum you'll ever hear coming out of a machine. I would pay the loot just for that one sound. Then the coolest feature of this machine is being able to stack up to 4 of the same sounds on top of each other at different tunings to make percussion chords (seriously wickid) If you see one going for sub £200-$300. Then do yourself a favour and grab it.

THE break beat hip hop box!! the crisp sounds the improv & stack pattern record modes, your guaranteed to end up with some really chopped up beats. Every time i turn this drum machine on and write a pattern it end up being a disfunctional groover. i love it. just re-tune the sounds, hit stack start triggering sounds at random, let the pattern stack over itself a few time adding sound occasionally hit the reverse button and BOOM! instant hip hop break beat. ive ised it for Trip Hop and Trance too..
