First if your gonna get one, save for the 64 because its worth it.

I have had my neKo LE Gen 2 for 1 year now and I love it more every day. It's as if each time I use it I find out something new I can do with it. Honestly this is the mother of all workstations. The neKo is the only true open architecture Synth on the market, its completely 100% upgradeable.

I am not going to lie and say it will replace your analog gear because that's just silly. You need different synths for different jobs... On my neko personally I use 'Reason 3.0' ReWired through 'Pro Tools' (no need for an m box) in which I can then run an extensive list of RTAs like Absynth 3.0, Kontakt 2.0, Guitar Rig 2.0 and others. You can then route your audio signals out to 16 mono or 8 stereo channels.

I have only good things to say about the NeKo and Open Labs Support...

Also check out the open labs forums for more user info.

People don't understand... This thing is the end all... especially for a software user. Man words cant explain. It's like bring a submarine to a knife fight. The sub can take out a whole city. Get this if you plan to get nothing else. Any software that you can load on a computer this will turn into a 100 fold beast. Heck I still use my free wave goldwave on this thing. Hard ware heads can't complain because you have the professional analog and digital audio output/input built-in. This will knock better than any stand alone computer on the market (the quality is superb). The only problem that I have encountered is finding a place to rest my forearm while working with the touch screen. I have not bought the Gen2 upgrade yet but I don't even really scratched the surface of gen1. You can feel like you are just on a pc if you want or on powerful instrument. If you love composing music on a computer and don't have the money get the LE like I did and upgrade a piece at a time. I love this machine but it will cost ya!!!

A great, great mothership with everything I could possibly need! The integration of all relevant stuff (midi controllers, touchscreen with visual feedback, transports and qwerty) along with a semi-weighted keyboard and the possibility to drive to external monitors for the 10 in/out M-Audio Delta-card (boosted) is simply stunning and allows me to interact with my music applications in a totally new way.

Have not heard a glitch, click, pop or similar from this beauty and I have run at least 1 instance of Stylus RMX, 2 SampleTank 2XLs, 3 Vanguards along 10 tracks of running audio...

And...it´s a mean computer on its own (I´m having the dual 1.4 Mhz 64-bit AMD Opteron config w 1 Gig RAM)! This review is actually written when this beauty multitasks with a Wavelab Batch in the background!!!
