Inspired by Victor Wooten (who we've featured before), Charles Bertoud has played bass from an early age and eventually got into Berklee College of Music in the US. In the video, he describes the journey he's been on since starting out on the instrument and beginning his own youtube channel - going from 5,000 subscribers to 1,000,000! While playing live and studying, he estimates he had 8 hours per day on the instrument, when he decided to start his youtube channel.
Many travels followed and while his social media promotion wasn't working, he was approached to play the 'best bast solo ever' by Davie504 on fiverr. His time and effort payed off and he now has 1m subs - a lesson in putting the time in to learn an instrument and craft your personal style.
