Designed for direct connection to a computer, the Microphone X is a great resource for podcasting, voiceovers and narration, as well as for home recording applications. The mic offers up to 24bit/96kHz recording resolution and features a great sounding, high performance cardioid capsule that has been custom engineered to give extended frequency response and superior transient response.

The integration of Aphex's Aural Exciter and Big Bottom analogue processing technology means that sound is enhanced before being recorded or broadcast. An analogue optical compressor keeps the dynamic range under control and provides a consistent input level to the DAW without clipping. Microphone X also features a high output headphone amp based on the Aphex HeadPod 4. No other USB microphone offers this kind of headphone amplifier performance.

The microphone is supplied with a tabletop stand. The package also includes Reaper Digital Audio Workstation software and the Harrison Mixbus Digital Audio Workstation with "True Analog Mixing".
