Scott Hetzer writes:
The R-8 is a very deep machine that is a little hard to get your head around at first. If you stick with it though, you'll learn something new everyday. I've had mine for about two years now, and I don't think I've scratched the surface of what it can do. The editing features are extensive and it has good MIDI implementation. There have been quite a few people who have used the R-8 professionally: The Shamen, CJ Bolland, The Human League, Underworld and 808 State to name a few. Overall, it's a great machine, truly a classic among drum boxes.

Comments About the Sounds:
Good acoustic drums. The expansion ROMs have a lot of good sounds.
