Tara Busch's blog, analogsuicide.com was featuring a number of Sonic's videos, so we figured it was time to say "hi" and find out some more about this cool chick who was into analogue gear.
Turns out she's just like any other dude who's had their life turned upside down by the sweet sound of modulation. So that gave us an idea. What about Tara hosting her own show direct from Hollywood for all the loyal Sonic viewers around the World? OK, so that was a while back, now cut to today as we launch the very first installment of our new series, Analog Suicide Note From Hollywood.
This first episode features some of Dan Mcpharlin's miniature cardboard synths, an eerie old Welsh pump organ and footage of the very first Storytone Electric piano.
I hope you enjoy the new series and the good news is there's plenty more on the way including a trip to the legendary Future Music emporium in the very next show.

Tara’s love of music started at an early age. With many musicians in her family she grew up to a soundtrack of Zeppelin, Bowie, Kate Bush, Portishead, Massive Attack and Goldfrapp (another Anglophile…ho hum.). When it came to recording her solo album, Pilfershire Lane, she found she couldn’t get the trippy, nostalgic and downright disturbing sounds she had in mind other than through using lots of real deal analogue synths. From that point on knobs and sliders have become something of an obsession and the only way to focus her enthusiasm was through creating her blog, analogsuicide.com.
The three clips are directed by Maf Lewis, who dance heads may know as the brains behind the release of the sublime 2 People by Jean-Jacques Smoothie. Simon Power
