Beardyman On Reason Objekt

US New device enters the realm of human beatbox      21/06/23

We covered the new Reason Objekt, a physical modeling synth for new and unique acoustic sounds in our Superbooth 2023 coverage. It went down very well during the show, with some exceptionally expressive features and a beautifully designed interface. Now it's in the hands of the human beatbox machine, Beardyman; who appears to be it's new number 1 fan. He gives us a full ru down with some exceptionally impressive demos. Here's what he has to say:

Reason was never part of my live beatbox-based electronic music improvisation rig until now. Recently Reason Studios released their latest device, Objekt, a resonation-based modelling synthesiser.

I've never come across anything that can do what it does. It's amazing and since Reason was made available as an M1 native plugin it can live in the gigantic Ableton monster that is the Beardytron. And oh my god is it good. Expressive, deep, realistic, expansive, a truly beautiful instrument.

With Objekt hosted in Reason Rack plugin, sound designers can give unparalleled expressibility to their synth sounds, escaping the tyranny of the "press note make sound" nature of digital synthesis. Now your voice, or indeed any source can augment the synthesizers excitation matrix and you can interact with this synth patch like an instrument you play with your voice or any other expressive input.
