Yazoo: 40th Anniversary Of 'Only You' Release

US Vince Clarke & Alison Moyet's synth pop masterpiece      15/03/22

Only You was released by Yazoo 40 years ago today, on 15th March 1982! This documentary tells the story of the song in detail, with Alison Moyet, Vince Clarke and others sharing their memories in 2008 on Swedish TV station SVT's 'Hitlatens Historia' programme. Get ready for some brutal honesty (and bad language) at the start! Does anyone else think that the narrator sounds like BoBeats? 

The song peaked at number in the UK charts in May of 1982 and later charted at number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA. It was ranked at number 7 among the top ten 'Tracks of the Year' for 1982 by NME and in 2012 they ranked it number 8 of their Greatest Pop Songs in History list.
