The Moog DFAM (Drummer From Another Mother) was released in 2018 and appeared to walk that fine line between percussion and melody - but whichever it was/is, we do know that it sounds brutally excellent! There are a few people expressing their love for it right now, 3 years on from it's release: First off, we have Mylar Melodies, in his love letter to the DFAM - a wild 40 minute ride around the sounds and sonic capabilities on offer, with expert explanation and some seriously gnarly percussive (or is it lead?) tones.

Next up is a Techno jam from Jorvis Voorn, using the DFAM with a 909, combining it to superb effect with a drum machine as suggested by Mr MM in his video. This totally different angle on the machine illustrates the diversity of sounds it's capable of, in a more minimal setting. Lovely stuff!

And finally, for those that don't have one, Marco Scherer has graciously shared a massive 92 minutes of DFAM jamming, available for free - or bung him a few quid and name your price. Entitled 'The Motherdrummer' it goes some way to putting the power of this larger than life unit almost within knob twiddling reach. Thank you kindly, Marco!
