Akai's Force is an alternative standalone production system to their MPC range. Force offers a clip based workflow which suits many and has been evolving since it was first released. However, MPC has been getting more of the love in recent months - thats changed with the introduction of Force 3.1 OS.

Force 3.1 adds a ton of extremely useful new features and enhancements - we had Andy Mac from Akai Pro come into the studio to show us how some of this works in practice.

Full list of new Features:

  • 3 New plugin instruments Solina, Odyssey, and Mellotron
  • New AIR Vocal Insert Effect Suite with Automatic Vocal Tuning, AIR Doubler, and AIR Harmonizer Plugins
  • Disk Streaming: Audio files can now be streamed from disk
  • Class-Compliant Audio Interface Support
  • New MIDI file Compatibility enabling MIDI file loading
  • 7 New Insert Effects such as Half Speed, Diode Clipper and Stutter
