New Film Explores Story Of Female Pioneers In Electronic Music

US 'Sisters with Transistors' on general release today      23/04/21

A new film from Director Lisa Rovner seeks to tell the story of females working in electronic music, who embraced machines and their liberating technologies to transform how we produce and listen to music today. There are numerous events planned to coincide with the release as well as a Spotify playlist to accompany the film.

The film maps a new history of electronic music through the visionary women whose radical experimentations with machines redefined the boundaries of music, including Clara Rockmore, Daphne Oram, Bebe Barron, Pauline Oliveros, Delia Derbyshire, Maryanne Amacher, Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel.

On release across Ireland and the UK today, April 23rd.
