German company, Ploytec have been in touch to say that they offer a ready-to-use USB2.0 full-speed USB-MIDI-solution that features up to 5 MIDI inputs and outputs in a single device. They say that, with this chip, one can easily build a MIDI Interface or covert an existing MIDI keyboard into an USB keyboard.
Here’s what they have to say in their own words…
The GM5 chip works with standard class-compliant drivers and is fully compatible with Windows Vista, XP and Mac OS X. Alternatively, customers can use the GM5 chip with Ploytec's special custom drivers, which feature greatly enhanced performance compared to standard drivers. GM5 ICs support a I2C EEPROM for vendor-specific data and start at euros 2.50 in quantity.
Ploytec is a leader in providing USB audio and MIDI drivers to end customers with 8 years experience in USB driver design. Ploytec has assisted the music industry into adoption of the USB2.0 protocol for audio with high-performance, low latency software and hardware that pushes the limits of USB audio.
