AAS add to their arsenal of plug-in instruments (Tassman, Lounge-lizard, Ultra-Analog) with the new VS-1 String Studio. At the core of String Studio lies a whole new cutting edge string model interacting with picks, bows, hammers, fingers, frets, dampers, and soundboards. String Studio is capable of modeling guitars, basses, harps, clavinets, bowed instruments, ethereal pads and wild textures. VS-1 comes with an extensive preset library or "use String Studio's innovative tools to craft earthy, organic timbres or other-worldly instruments simply not possible with other synthesizers." String Studio is available now for both the Windows and Mac OS X platforms at a suggested retail price of US$249. String Studio is available as a standalone application and supports DXi, VST, Audio Units and RTAS (Mac OS only) plug-in formats.
