Taylor have announced the 2004 Fall Limited Editions, a series of guitars with exotic tonewoods. The 300 series Fall Limiteds feature Tasmanian Koa with deep, dark grain patterns and a warm mellow tone, while the 400 Series Limiteds feature the rich, refined look and distinctive full tonal spectrum of solid Indian rosewood combined with a Sitka spruce top. The 600 Series Limiteds have been given narrow back-wedges of figured Hawaiian koa flanked by premium flamed maple while koa binding and a single soundhole ring of of deep red cocobolo continue the theme of colour contrast. Abalone and mother-of-pearl 'wing' fretboard inlays add a finishing touch. The 800 Series Limiteds feature cocobolo from central Mexico with bright maple wedges down their backs. Binding is figured maple completed by a cocobolo peghead veneer, soundhole rosette and top edging. The 900 Series Limiteds have backs and sides of premium Brazilian rosewood for depth and bass and Engelmann spruce tops for sparkle and clarity. Also available are the Koa Series Fall Limiteds with Hawaiian koa and curly maple binding. These guitars feature a meandering jungle vine creeping up the fretboard with abalone and pearl philodendron leaves reaching out as fret markers. More info:
