Lingering at the Sound Technology stand we were drawn - as no doubt were many others, to the latest demos of the much awaited Logic 5 and Logic Control. 5 is a really impressive piece of work and presents number of new features including:
  • All New 32-bit track based automation system. It's possible to draw, move, cut and paste automation events for any number of channel parameters - including plug-in params. All integrating with the new Mackie Control Surface of course.
  • Several new plug-ins - including some tasty distortion, stereo enhancement and more
  • New virtual instruments: The Evoc20 band vocoder, the ES2 - latest analog synth These optional new instruments are coded into Logic and are just activated when the authorization CD is run - resulting in very efficient integration.
  • OS X support for Mac users There are many more tweaks and enhancments too numerous to mention here - to get the full skinny: http://www.emagic.de Release is set for January 7th 2002 - for both Logic 5 and the Mackie Control
